A slightly overcast morning provided almost perfect light conditions earlier today for 10 volunteers from the Northshore SES unit to look their very best in front of the camera.
Our soon to be ‘SES celebrities’ hit City Beach at first light last Tuesday to meet up with staff from Bankwest and a film and photographic crew from Channel 9. Confronted by a make-up team armed with foundation, blusher, hair brushes and clippers, our intrepid volunteers enjoy a few moments of pampering before being called into action in front of the cameras.
So what was it all in aid of?
Local Manager Northshore SES Nick Elliott explained. “Earlier this year, the Northshore SES unit applied for, and was successful in being awarded, a $1,000 Bankwest Community Grant for the specific purpose of purchasing 4 sets of Maxtrax self-recovery boards. When we were subsequently invited to be part of the upcoming television, social media and print advertising campaign, then we (of course) jumped at the opportunity of getting the SES brand out there, and so here we are today.”
Nick added “To have 10 of our members putting their hands up, some of whom have taken time off work, in order to be a part of getting the SES brand on television, speaks volumes. These guys and girls are doing their very best to showcase the amazing work done by our SES volunteers state-wide.”
No specific details have been released as yet in relation to timings for the rollout of the advertising campaign, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for the volunteers of the Northshore SES unit coming soon to a television near you!
