Dozens search for missing man

Dozens of SES volunteers joined forces with police officers, police mounted section, the police helicopter, and BPGA officers to search dense bushland in and around the Lotterywest Family Area off Kings Park Road yesterday afternoon.

Tony Lawson, 51, was last seen by his wife at approximately 0730hrs on Wednesday morning, and is believed to now be in the Kings Park area.

Approximately 30 volunteers from the Northshore SES unit were assisted by crews from Belmont, Canning and Stirling. Searching continued into the night, with teams stood down by 2200hrs.

Mr lawson is clean shaven, 178cm tall with grey hair, blue eyes, and is of slim build. He was last seen wearing blue/grey chequered shorts, a light coloured top, and dark blue/grey Dunlop sneakers.

Acting Local Manager Northshore SES Nick Elliott said that SES teams had worked well to quickly search and clear large areas of Kings Park before nightfall.

Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Mr lawson should contact the police on 131 444.
