Northshore volunteers attend forensic search in Redcliffe
Major crime squad detectives, forensic experts and State Emergency Service volunteers continued to scour the Kanowna Road area this week, including a search on a home at nearby Coolgardie Road following the murder of an elderly woman in her Redcliffe home last weekend.
The elderly woman was killed during a violent Redcliffe home invasion last weekend. She survived a nazi labour camp before migrating to Australia in the 1950s.
Mr Gadja said Mrs Sadlowski met her husband in the nazi labour camp but rarely spoke of her experiences there. The Sadlowskis migrated to Perth in the early 1950s and first lived in a Polish migrant camp, which is now the Redcliffe Primary School, just metres from her Kanowna Road home.
Mrs Sadlowski had no children of her own or family in Perth but was in regular contact with her siblings.
Yesterday, 30 year-old Stefan Dicky Westberg appeared in Perth Magistrate's Court charged with Mrs Sadlowski's murder.
Bearded and wearing an oversized maroon jumper, Mr Westberg was silent during his appearance. It is alleged Mr Westberg broke into Mrs Sadlowski's home between 10.30pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday.
It is also alleged that he inflicted fatal injuries on Mrs Sadlowski.
